Are you unfamiliar with what bathtub reglazing is all about? Simply get in contact with Gulf Coast Nu-Glaze and we can explain the process to you. We are available to answer any questions regarding our bathtub re-glaze services.
What services do you provide?
We refinish fiberglass, acrylic, cast iron, and porcelain bathtubs. We can also refinish sinks, tile showers, tile walls, tile bathroom floors, and bathroom countertops. Our team repairs chips, scratches, and cracks in bathtubs, sinks, and some tile and countertops as well.
What product do you use to refinish bathtubs?
We use one of the finest topcoats in the industry called Polyglass. It is an aliphatic acrylic polyurethane. Unlike epoxy topcoats, Polyglass is very glossy and will not yellow over time. It provides a surface that is harder than enamel or acrylic, yet flexible enough to withstand temperature changes, and is resistant to the impact of dropped objects. It has terrific stain resistance and is easy to clean.
What is the reglazing/refinishing process?
First we prepare the surface to be re-glazed by creating an excellent bondable surface. We remove old caulking from around the perimeter of the tub and acid etch the porcelain. If you have a fiberglass bathtub, we sand out every square inch of the tub.
We then apply two coats of a NASA-approved aerospace epoxy primer to the surface and three coats of Polyglass. We will then re-caulk the perimeter of the tub. For an extra charge, we can apply a non-slip surface to the bottom of the tub and install a new drain and overflow plate and/or a spout for you.
Can I change the color of my tub/sink/tile?
Yes. Several shades of white, biscuit, almond, or bone are always available. There is an extra charge for other colors since they must be special-ordered. We can schedule a consultation where you will be able to choose the color you desire from our color chart, or you may pick out your own color from a paint store chart, and we will order the shade closest to your choice.
How long does the process take?
From start to cleanup, the refinishing process usually takes our team around five to six hours for a standard-sized bathtub. Larger jobs may take up to two days.
How long before I can use the tub?
We know you can’t wait to try out your “new” bathtub. You may use your tub in 24 hours!
